This unique tour is ideal for foodies wanting to gain a deeper understanding of Sri Lanka cuisine and at the same time learn about Galle’s historic fort by meeting the locals. Juliet Coombe guides the walking tour, she’s written several Sri Lankan travel guides and runs Sri Serendipity Publishing House within the fort itself. The tour includes sampling some of the best Sri Lankan street food; a cookery course where you’ll learn Sri Lankan favourites such as pol sambol and fish curry; you’ll learn all about the medicinal uses of spiced tea; and you will discover a quaint Sri Lankan tradition known as short eats. The afternoon tour is rounded off with freshly made pol roti. This is a late afternoon tour and starts at 3pm. Please note this tour may be with a small group and is subject to availability at the time of booking.
